About Me

As a fine art photographer, I explore the world through a diverse range of subjects, finding my most natural expression in the timeless qualities of monochrome photography. Working from my studio on Sonoma Mountain, my creative focus centers on architectural and macro photography. By deliberately eliminating color in these studies, I bring to light the inherent contrast, depth, and structural form that might otherwise remain obscured.
Largely self-taught through independent practice and structured study, my creative voice is uniquely shaped by my background. My journey began in the makeshift darkrooms of my childhood, where I learned the nuances of composition and technical execution from my father. Today, my artistic practice exists alongside a career in medicine; the analytical precision and focus required for my medical work directly inform the calculated, structured eye I bring to the camera lens.
Whether capturing the bold lines of human engineering, mapping the intricate geometries of a fog-coated spider web along my deck railing, or exploring other subjects in my broader portfolio, I focus on a precise balance of tone, line, and delicate texture. The resulting prints invite viewers to look past the surface noise of the everyday world and appreciate a crisp, geometric beauty.
IÂ exhibit my fine art studies in gallery settings, presenting work that emphasizes this structured, visual power. I am also an active member of the Marin Photography Club, and deeply value the rich exchange of perspectives and the collaborative spirit of the artistic community.
